Course Description:
This course provides an overview of current software programs used to create motion graphics for various digital media productions. Students learn the skills to composite video and still graphics in After Effects and motion, using color, space, keyframes and design in this project-based course that guides them towards creative awareness of animated graphic presentations in a 2D and 3D world. Students must earn a "C+" or better to advance in the Video Production Program.
Online Coursework: Students are expected to follow the modules that are available in Canvas to view pre-recorded presentations and tutorial videos. Students are encouraged to pause videos to take notes during presentations. Students must have programs open and actively participate in the tutorials while watching pre-recorded videos. Students must be able to perform the skills that are demonstrated by the instructor in the videos. The student’s demonstration of these skills will be assessed in projects and assignments.

Course Outcomes
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs):
By the end of the semester, you should be better able to assess your own work and make an argument about where you are in your learning.
1. Demonstrate proficiency with the mechanics of motion graphics programs, including keyboard shortcuts in class activities and in assigned projects.
2. Demonstrate proficiency in combining the strengths of programs to achieve desired special effects in assigned projects.
3. Compile assigned work to create a demonstration package of completed motion graphic work to use as promotional material to find employment.
4. Demonstrate and explain legible information theories for effective graphical communication.
5. Prove comprehension of color harmonies through practice in class and in assignments.
6. Produce still image and video file types in accordance with how and where the information will be displayed.
7. Display knowledge and use of alpha channels for element isolation in graphics programs during assignments.

Zoom Proctoring
In the event that faculty utilize remote proctoring as a tool to monitor the use of remote exams, proctoring via Zoom is an option.

- A second device that is capable of supporting both video and audio Zoom meetings for remote proctoring
